AI automation consulting in the Portland metro
AI automation consulting for small businesses and practices in Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro, Gresham, Lake Oswego and St. Helens, with Oregon privacy and professional rules built in.
I’m based across the river in Woodland, WA, and I work on site with owner-run businesses and practices across the Portland metro.
Who I work with here
The metro has a deep bench of small professional offices: solo and small law firms around downtown and the suburbs, independent dental and medical practices, CPA firms, and property managers working Portland’s rental rules. Washington County adds a lot of suppliers and service shops around the Hillsboro and Beaverton tech employers, and East County and Columbia County have many owner-run trade businesses.
Oregon rules that shape the setup
- Oregon Consumer Privacy Act. In effect since July 1, 2024. It applies to businesses that handle personal data of 100,000 or more consumers a year, or 25,000 or more while earning over 25% of revenue from selling data. Most small offices fall under those lines, but HIPAA and professional duties still apply.
- Lawyers. Oregon State Bar Formal Opinion 2025-205 covers AI use: understand the tool, protect client information, check the output, and bill fairly.
- Landlords. ORS chapter 90, plus Portland’s own renter protections, means notices stay with a person.
- Contractors. Oregon CCB licensing and contract notice rules apply to anything an automation drafts.
Best fits in the metro
- Small law firms and firms working both sides of the river
- Dental offices
- CPA firms and bookkeepers
- Property managers
How it works
- Process audit. I sit with the people who do the work, map where the hours go, and rank the tasks worth automating. You get a short written plan. Small offices can start with the half-day starter instead.
- First build. I build one automation inside the tools you already use. It only touches what it needs, a person approves anything that matters, every action is logged, and there is an off switch.
- Training and care. Your team learns to run it in plain language. Care covers tuning and fixes after launch.
